How Many Days Do You Suggest Spending in Switzerland?

We recommend 7–10 days for a well-rounded luxury itinerary. Switzerland’s diversity means every region feels like a different country—be it landscapes, traditions, languages, or cuisine. Fany of our clients return for second and third visits because We design multi-region trips that balance iconic highlights with secluded gems. Learn more about our tailor-made Switzerland itineraries.

Is Switzerland a good destination for families?

Absolutely. With its safety, clean air, immersive cultural activities, and nature-based adventures, Switzerland is a dream family destination. Imagine staying in an alpine retreat while your kids run freely in meadows or dip into a glacial lake. Check out our sample family itinerary that blends relaxation and enrichment.

When is the best time to travel to Switzerland?

Our favorite months to visit Switzerland are definitely June and September—the landscapes are lush and vibrant, most places are open, the temperatures are just right, and there are fewer crowds compared to July and August (though with the right guidance, even peak season can feel exclusive!).

If you’re a skier, we recommend February—though availability can be tricky with school holidays—and early March, when the sun is out, the crowds have thinned, and snow conditions are often ideal.

Keep in mind that if you’re dreaming of an alpine escape, the shoulder seasons may limit your options: many mountain hotels close from April to early June and again from October to early December, with cable cars and alpine restaurants often on break too. If you’re planning more of a city-based holiday, this won’t affect you much, but for the full alpine experience, we recommend traveling between June and September or December and March.

Which Swiss Cities Should I Visit?

Every Swiss city offers a distinct flavor, making it worth exploring more than just one. Bern, the UNESCO-listed capital, enchants visitors with its medieval arcades, clock towers, and artisan boutiques—it feels like stepping into a living museum. Zurich pairs old-world charm with modern luxury, boasting world-class dining, lakefront strolls, and easy access to both cultural attractions and natural escapes. Art lovers will find their haven in Basel, home to over 40 museums and a thriving design scene. Beyond the major cities, we guide our travelers to lesser-known gems like Vevey on Lake Geneva, Morcote in Ticino, or Thun, nestled between the Alps and a sparkling lake—places that capture Switzerland’s soul without the crowds. Whether you seek vibrant city life, lakeside elegance, or cultural depth, we tailor your luxury Switzerland itinerary to the experiences that move you most.

Which Airport Should I Fly To?

For most itineraries, we recommend flying into Zurich and out of Geneva (or vice versa) to avoid backtracking. International hubs include:

• Zurich (ZRH)

• Geneva (GVA)

• Basel (BSL)

You can also arrive via Milan or Lyon with seamless connections by high-speed train or private transfer.

Do I Have To Be An Experienced Hiker To Enjoy the Swiss Nature?

You definitely don’t need to be an experienced hiker to enjoy Switzerland’s spectacular landscapes. Thanks to panoramic trains, scenic drives, and world-class cable cars, you can soak in jaw-dropping alpine views without breaking a sweat. For those who enjoy walking, there are well-marked trails for all levels—including gentle paths perfect for families or those with limited mobility. And if you are an avid hiker, you’re in for a treat with some of Europe’s most rewarding routes. But the true magic of Switzerland often lies beyond the trail: it’s in the unexpected encounters, the hidden valleys, and the local stories that make each journey unforgettable. Discover how we take you beyond the tourist trail in Switzerland—with tailor-made experiences that connect you to both nature and people in the most meaningful way.

What’s the Best Way to Get Around Switzerland for a Luxury Journey?

Switzerland offers several seamless and scenic ways to get around, but the best option depends on your travel style. Self-driving allows for ultimate freedom, letting you explore hidden villages, remote luxury lodges, and awe-inspiring alpine passes at your own pace. The public transport system—especially the iconic panoramic trains—is clean, reliable, and perfect for city-to-city travel. But for a truly elevated experience, our clients often choose private driver-guides, combining the intimacy of local storytelling with the comfort of door-to-door service. Whether you prefer to drive yourself or be chauffeured through Switzerland’s breathtaking landscapes, we design every route to suit your pace and passions.

Can I Take Day Trips From Switzerland to Other European Countries?

Absolutely—Switzerland’s central location makes it an ideal base for exploring nearby European gems. From Geneva, you can slip into France for a day to visit Annecy, Lyon, or Yvoire, each bursting with charm and history. Basel gives easy access to the Alsace wine route, while the Italian-speaking region of Ticino places you within reach of Milan and Lake Como. In the east, travelers can cross into Germany or Austria within a scenic drive or train ride. Whether you’re craving croissants in France or espresso on an Italian lakefront, we curate luxurious cross-border day trips as part of your personalized itinerary.

Is Switzerland a Good Destination for Food and Wine Lovers?

Switzerland is a hidden treasure for luxury foodies—offering an extraordinary blend of fine dining, regional specialties, and under-the-radar wine experiences. With over 120 Michelin-starred restaurants, it rivals top culinary destinations, yet also surprises with humble alpine taverns serving timeless recipes passed down for generations. Add in the influence of French, Italian, and German cuisine, and your palate is in for a journey of its own. And the wine? With only 2% exported, Swiss wine is one of Europe’s best-kept secrets. We take food-loving travelers deep into vineyard valleys, private tastings, and unforgettable meals with a view you’ll never forget.

Here, you will find our favorite foodie experiences that we curate around Switzerland.

Are There Popular Swiss Destinations You Recommend Skipping?

While Switzerland’s famous spots like Lucerne or Interlaken are undeniably beautiful, they often feel overrun and lack the authentic charm our travelers seek. That’s why we focus on uncovering the soul of Switzerland—hidden alpine hamlets, off-the-radar lakes, and local artisans tucked away in valleys the tour buses don’t reach. It’s not about skipping places entirely, but about experiencing them differently—perhaps with a private guide at dawn or as a brief stop en route to somewhere even more magical. Let us help you see the real Switzerland, far from the crowds, where the experience feels personal, rare, and unforgettable.

What is the Swiss Currency and What Are The Methods of Payment?

Switzerland uses the Swiss Franc (CHF)—not the Euro. Here’s what to know:

• Credit cards are widely accepted

• Always choose to pay in CHF, not your home currency

• Carry some cash, especially in small towns or mountain inns

• Get cash at Swiss ATMs—better rates than exchanging at home or hotels.
